My new favourite time killer. I was browsing 4color rebellion the other day and one of the writer mentioned . So the game is like pictionary and you play with people over the internet. The best thing is how well it works over 3G. I’m going to have to start catching more buses.

Me and my Go

So at the start or December I just couldn’t hold off any longer, I got myself a PSP Go. I’d heard so many bad things about it; it has a smaller screen, I can’t play my old games, it’s going to hurt my hands and the downloads from the Playstation store are slow. All these things meant nothing cause at the end of the day it was new and I wanted it. I didn’t buy it brand new cause it was way too expensive (another one to add to the list) so I went to my favourite second hand store and traded some stuff in and got it for the low low cost of £129.

Some of the reason why everyone hated the PSP Go were quite sound but they just didn’t affect me in a serious way really. I hadn’t played my old PSP-1000 very much and I didn’t care about any of the games I still had for it. Actually I handed them down to my nephew where they will get some extra love. Also cause I was in Europe Sony looked after me good. They gave me codes to download three old games and they also offered me the choice between Motorstorm: Arctic Rift, Assassins Creed: Bloodlines and something else which slips my mind. I choose Motorstorm and it’s really good!

So two months in and I have been playing the hell out of my PSP Go. I love the form factor, it fits just right in my jacket pocket. It’s true that it does less special things then the normal PSP but I just can’t fault it. The games i’ve fallen in love with because of the Go are Pixel Junk Monsters, Loco Roco ( i fell for it all over again) and the other night I picked up Patapon 2 cause it won Giant Bomb PSP Game of the Year.

A New Year

I’ve been pretty slack with this whole blog thing but I hope to be a little bit better for the start of this year. It’s cold outside and it’s perfect weather for playing video games. Right now i’m loaded up with video games for every system I own. I’m finding it hard to fine time to play everything cause they are all so good.

Assassin’s Creed 2 (PS3) - I’m about 30 mins in. Got the day before I went on holiday  to Australia.

LocoRoco (PSP) - Playing this on the go at the moment. Really enjoying it.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS) - Playing this at bed time. Not rushing it, there isn’t enough Zelda to go around.

I want to get Bayonetta as well this month. I’m also planning to break from my usual habit and get it on XBOX 360. Also I want to get Pixel Junk Shooter off PSN which i’m hoping to play co-op with someone.

I’m crap at Modern Warfare 2

Here’s something I wrote and put on a website I like to read. I like it cause anyone can write on there:

I’m not the biggest first person shooter fan, lets get that out of the way to start. I am however a sucker for advertising and i’ll admit that I got caught up in the hype for Modern Warfare 2 (Killzone 2 and Halo: ODST). I’ve been playing games longer enough to be able to finish any type of game but since yesterday when I loaded up Modern Warfare 2 (MF2) I just don’t think I have what it takes to finish it.

I’m up to the fourth or so mission, the one after the airport scene (which to be honest I didn’t have any feeling for, good or bad) and to say that i’m confused is speaking lightly. The first three missions I just sort of ambled forward hoping I was going the right way. I had to die a lot to figure out I wasn’t a few times. Now i’m in the slums of Rio and it’s really just a grind to get to the next checkpoint let alone the next mission. I just don’t think I care enough to grind my way through. I’m mad enough that this game wants me to grind my way through. I know it’s realistic to have people from all around shooting you but come on when I can’t see a things whats the point.

You know what! I’m starting to feel like this is bad game design rather then being crap. Infinity Ward are just lucky that the multiplayer is so nice and comforting that I don’t think i’ll find a reason to sell it.

Fit Friday!

Wii Fit

Last year I was a first day adopter for Wii Fit. Now in truth I bought it just so I could have the balance board. At the end of the day however I found myself quite liking the actual Wii Fit game. I did it most days for about two months then some of the things I hate about the game started to get on my nerves and I just stopped playing.

Now tomorrow sees the release of Wii Fit Plus and i’m going out to get it. From what I have read and heard it fixes all the things that felt like a grind in the first game. I’m very excited about starting some yoga again.

What have I been playing - 26.10.09

So the girlfriend went home on Friday so on the weekend I got most of uncharted done. It is building a little to slowly for my liking but I am excited about seeing the end the end cause I heard something about it.

Apart from that, I bought Ynth and Sniper Vs Sniper for my iphone but sort of just dabbled with those and I have been getting in some FIFA 10 online which has been fun!

This game stole my heart!

Ynth

It’s been so long since I have found a wonderful charming game on the App Store. Lately i’ve been trying to find a new game but I have been out of luck. The other day I was browsing the App Store and I stumbled upon Ynth. Ynth is a puzzle game that sees you as a little bug trying to push a box over some horrible goop that swallows you up if you touch it.

I am completely smitten with this! the art style makes me smile but the best part is the music. I want to listen to it on it’s own.

There is a lite version! so go get that. NOW!!! Don’t forget to turn up that volume.

What have I been playing 19.10.09

Wow this week was taken up by three things only. My wonderful girlfriend came to visit from Sweden which has been excellent. The other two were gaming realted. Swoon! Uncharted 2! Nearly finished it in the first two days but haven’t had time to have a go at multiplayer yet. The other is FIFA 10. I have read a lot of reviews for that game and everyone is 360 degree movement is AMAZING. So I just thought it was one of those things that everyone on about but it truly take the game to another level. It’s so great to take the ball around the last defender and score in the 93 minute.

New Games

So I had a great week playing games this week. I hit up some DS this week. Scribblenauts didn’t come till the end of the week, so I went to pick up the new Professor Layton but it was too expensive so I played the old one. By the way…AMAZING!!!!

On the console side of things I finished up Batman Arkham Asylum which I had considered not finishing but i’m very glad I did. Then I traded it in and picked up FIFA 10 and Halo ODST. Haven’t really played much of them!

I love my pile of new games!

Scribblenauts is a game with a near limitless idea. You write the word and that thing appears on screen. 5th Cell the developer have a rumored 10000 words into there game.

Since I got it this morning i’ve put a machine gun in gods hands, saved a cat off a roof with a UFO and killed a fly with a rocket launcher.

The idea is flawless but i’ve found out the controls are not. I hope they don’t let the game down the longer I play. Well I’m off to see who would win a fight between a vampire and a elephant!!!

What have I been playing -04/10/09

So I do much gaming at the start of the week but towards the end I played some pretty neat stuff.

I worked my way through the last part of Batman Arkham Asylum. Which I was happy to finish cause it was starting to get on my nerves. That said it is still a excellent game an does the Batman legacy justice.

On Saturday I had a few friends over and we had a little Beatles Rock Band party. I have never gathered a whole bunch of people and play Rock Band before, it was totally excellent. Those Beatles songs are all great and I think i’m going to end up with some extra DLC when they start to release the other records.

I also played the Brutal Legend demo! I am very excited about this now, the demo won me over hands down. And on my iPhone i played Canabalt, a track and field game and a lot of Harbor Master.

Canabalt is high score crack!

Canabalt in action

So I love games where it’s always “just one more time” . I’m also obsessed with getting a slightly higher score on those sort of games. This game I read about today, it’s called Canabalt.

The game play is just a man running across buildings and the only thing you have to do is press the screen to make him jump across coming buildings. I have the iphone version but you can try out the original flash version here
